Former heavyweight world champion Andy Ruiz stated that Oleksandr Usyk in private correspondence agreed to a possible match between them.
“About a few weeks ago, we corresponded. It seems that Usyk himself wrote to me first. I replied, “Brother, with all due respect, it would be an honor to step into the ring with you.” And he said: “Everything will be in its time, according to the will of God, we will arrange it.” And I thought, “Wow!”
The last time Andy Ruiz entered the ring was in 2024 – then the fight against Jarrell Miller ended in a draw. Prior to that, in 2019, the Mexican made history by creating one of the biggest upsets of the century when he sensationally knocked out Anthony Joshua and became the heavyweight world champion.
