Ukrainian boxer disqualified for 10 years for doping

The current champion of Ukraine in boxing Maxim Zinevich He received a tough sanction-10 years of disqualification after a positive doping test, the National Anti-Doping Center of Ukraine said.

The athlete sample revealed prohibited substances from the group of selective modulators of androgen receptors (SARMS): Ostarin residues (enobosarm) and its metabolites, as well as traces of ligandrole (LGD-4033) and RAD140. These drugs stimulate muscle growth and increase endurance, which gives the athlete an advantage.

In addition, Zinevich violated Article 2.5 of the Anti-Doping Code-falsification or attempt to falsify at any stage of doping control. In this regard, the National Anti -Doping Center has approved the maximum punishment.

Disqualification begins in April 30, 2025 and will last until April 29, 2035. Thus, a 19-year-old athlete will not be able to perform official competitions throughout this time.

In March 2025, Zinevich won the Gold Medal of the Ukrainian Championship in the weight category up to 75 kg, and last fall he won the Cup of Ukraine. His career, which has just begun, is now paused.
