The Ukrainian boxer will fight for the title of World Champion in Mexico

Ukrainian boxer Arnold Hegay (23–2–1, 14 KO) will get a chance to compete for the title of world lightweight champion (up to 57.2 kg). This was reported by The Ring.

WBO title Raphael Espinos (27-0, 23 KO) decided to protect its belt against a representative of Ukraine. The battle will take place on November 15 in Mexico.

Initially, the world champion planned to enter the ring against his compatriot Louis Alberto Lopez, but opted for another opponent. In 2025, Espinos ran one battle – in May he knocked out in the seventh round of American Edward Vasquez.

Hegay spent 26 matches in the professional ring, in which he won 23 victories (14 by knockout). The future battle with a Mexican will be the first title for the Ukrainian boxer.

This year, Hegay went to the ring twice – in March he gave way to American Joet Gonzalez with a separate decision of the judges, but in September managed to close that defeat and overcome the experienced Venezuelan Libori Solisa (UD 8).
