In the evening of December 21, a mega boxing show was held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

The Ukrainian boxer met in the ring for the second time Oleksandr Usyk (23–0, 14 KO) and British Tyson Fury (34–2–1, 24 KOs).

It was a rematch for the WBC, WBA, WBO (as well as IBO) world heavyweight title. Oleksandr Usyk managed to defend the titles, won the triumph by a unanimous decision of the judges – 116-112, 116-112, 116-112!

After the match, Oleksandr Usyk showed the public a Ukrainian relic – the saber of Hetman Ivan Mazepa. On January 6, she returned to Ukraine, as reported by the State Customs Service of Ukraine:

“The weapon of the Ukrainian hetman, which was raised above the head of Oleksandr Usyk after his victory over Tyson Fury in Saudi Arabia, has returned to Ukraine. A historical relic of the end of the 17th century, which temporarily left the Chernihiv Regional Historical Museum named after V. Tarnovsky, became a symbol of the great history of the Ukrainian people.

Today, the Kyiv customs office issued a customs clearance for the return of Ivan Mazepa’s saber to Ukraine after temporary removal for display in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The saber passed customs clearance taking into account all legal norms and procedures defined by the legislation of Ukraine.

The appearance of the weapons of the Ukrainian hetman on the world stage became a testimony of our heroic past and present, a reflection of the era of the hetmanship, and also demonstrated the strength and spirit of Ukrainians.”
