The World Boxing Organization (WBO) and the International Boxing Federation (IBF) will hold a joint convention in the fall of 2026 for the first time in history.
The main goal of the event is to coordinate the position of both organizations in opposing changes to federal laws that provide protection for professional boxers. The parties also plan to emphasize the importance of official championship belts, against the background of the initiatives of the new Zuffa Boxing structure, which is financed by Saudi Arabia and Turki Al-Sheikh.
Currently, the WBA and WBC are not participating in the upcoming convention. According to the source, these federations have accepted sponsorship from Turki Al Sheikh and the Riyadh Season program.
