Former world champion in three weight categories Vasyl Lomachenko explained the reasons for ending his career.
“Even before the fight with Kambosos, I was already thinking about quitting boxing, because my goal was to become the absolute world champion. After the fight with Haynie, I realized that there was no more chance – it would take too long. When I realized that I would not become an absolute champion, I already finished boxing,” said Lomachenko.
Earlier, the lightweight world champion Vasyl Lomachenko announced the end of his boxing career. The Ukrainian’s last opponent was George Kambosos, whom he defeated in 2024.
