Vice-president of the Professional Boxing League of Ukraine and former world champion Alina Shaternikova shared the cause of Uzelkov’s death.
“There were no chances there. There were many blood clots. It didn’t happen suddenly. At some point, Vyacheslav’s heart stopped in the hospital. Doctors managed to start his work. But the former boxer never came out of the coma.
I could not go to the funeral. I left at 5 in the morning to say goodbye by 9. All the way she remembered various stories from his boxing life. I remember his beautiful smile and the way he looked at his opponent in battle,” Alina said.
About a month ago, Vyacheslav Uzelkov reported receiving disability of the second group after undergoing 5 operations.
