“The American dealt with his compatriot and conquered the fourth weight category”, — write: sport.ua
The main event of the show was the title fight in the first middleweight (up to 63.5 kg) – the winner of the WBO belt met in the ring Teofimo Lopez (22–1, 13 KO) from the USA and his compatriot Shakur Stevenson (24–0, 11 KOs).
The fight lasted all 12 rounds and ended with a confident and crushing victory for Shakur, who did not leave the opponent a single chance, winning the championship title and conquering the fourth division.
Lopez tried to work both number one and number two, but excellent footwork from Stevenson negated any threat from Lopez.
Shakur regularly disturbed his opponent with jabs, easily broke the distance, making his compatriot feel as uncomfortable as possible.
According to the final striking statistics, Stevenson threw twice as many accurate punches (165-72), had an advantage in power shots (60-56), and simply destroyed the opponent with jabs (105-16).
According to the Compubox analytics system, Shakur set a personal record for accurate jabs (105 accurate) and allowed the opponent to land on the target only 15% of his punches.
