The main event was the fight for the title of interim world champion according to the WBC version in the first middleweight (up to 69.9 kg) – the title holder, the American, met in the ring Virgil Ortiz (23–0, 21 KOs) and his compatriot Erickson Lubin (27–2, 19 KOs).
Lubin understood that he was seriously inferior to his opponent in speed and maneuverability, tried not to force events, worked as number two. He drove Ortiz away with a jab, he moved well on his feet.
Virgil successfully pressed his compatriot, pressed him to the ropes, throwing powerful side blows. In one of the episodes of the second round, the champion delivered several powerful overhands – Lubin went into blind defense, tried to wait out the attack, but soon stopped responding and the referee was forced to beat him.
Ortiz easily defeated his opponent and defended the title of world champion in the first middleweight.
