The undefeated Briton Moses Itauma (13–0, 11 KOs) can fight for the world heavyweight title (over 90.7 kg). This was announced by the president of the World Boxing Organization (WBO), Gustavo Olivieri.

On January 26, 2026, Itauma will enter the ring against the American Jermaine Franklin – the winner of this confrontation will become a mandatory contender for the title held by the British Fabio Wordley (20–0–1, 19 KOs).

“Itauma will become a mandatory contender for the Wardley title if he defeats Jermaine Franklin. A victory over the American will give him an advantage in the fight for the WBO belt,” Olivieri said.

Wordley won the interim belt in October when he knocked out New Zealander Joseph Parker in London. The day before, the absolute world champion, the Ukrainian Oleksandr Usyk, gave up the WBO title, so Fabio was promoted to full champion.
