Ukrainian lightweight boxer Vasyl Lomachenko got a chance to retain the IBF title, reports the popular publication The Ring.
According to the source, the IBF has officially granted the fighter a medical exemption, which will allow him to retain the IBF lightweight world title.
The federation decided to organize a fight for the IBF interim belt by the Russian Zaur Abdulaev (20–1, 12 KO) and an American Raymond Muratalia (22–0, 17 KOs). Lomachenko will be obliged to fight the winner of this confrontation until October 8, 2025, if he does not want to lose the title.
