Two-time Olympic champion and former world champion in three weight categories Vasyl Lomachenko explained why he decided to end his boxing career.
“I lost motivation. My goal was to become the absolute world champion, but after losing to Devin Haney, I realized that this was my last chance. Then I won another belt and decided to quit boxing,” Lomachenko admitted.
When asked if the injury was the reason, the boxer answered: “No, it’s just a matter of motivation. Only motivation.”
Earlier, the lightweight world champion Vasyl Lomachenko announced the end of his boxing career. The Ukrainian’s last opponent was George Kambosos, whom he defeated in 2024.
