Legendary Ukrainian boxer and mayor of Kyiv Vitaliy Klitschko stated that the capital is experiencing the hardest winter in its history.
Due to the massive Russian strikes on the energy infrastructure and long-term blackouts of electricity, heat and water, the city has already been abandoned since the beginning of January 600 thousand inhabitants.
In an interview with The Times, Klitschko warned of the risk of a humanitarian catastrophe and called on the people of Kyiv to leave if they have the opportunity. According to him, in conditions of frosts down to -20°, the situation with basic services remains critical, and the authorities are forced to resort to emergency solutions in order to prevent accidents in city networks.
