Ukrainian boxer Oleksandr Khizhnyak told how he spent the prize money for the gold medal of the 2024 Olympics. In the final, the Ukrainian defeated Kazakh boxer Nurbek Oralbai.
Khizhnyak received $125,000 from the state and $100,000 from the Boxing Federation of Ukraine.
“Part of it – I helped the military. Even now, if there is any opportunity, some fees, and now we help. I helped my parents, my relatives, people who helped me. He saved a part for his family, for his wife, for his child.
I left a little bit to continue my career, because you need everything, equipment for training, for everything – it also takes some money. That is, he tried to take maximum part in everything and kept some for himself,” Khizhnyak said.
