The promotional company Matchroom Boxing released an official statement regarding the accident involving the world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua. The accident happened in Lagos, Nigeria.
“It is with deep sadness that we have confirmed that two close friends and team members, Sina Gami and Latif Ayodele, have tragically passed away.
Joshua was injured and taken to hospital. He is in a stable condition and will remain under the supervision of doctors.
We extend our deepest condolences to the families and loved ones of the victims and ask that their right to privacy be respected at this difficult time,” Matchroom Boxing said in a statement.
