In a comment to the Dziennik Polski, Border Service Major Jacek Michalowski explained that Oleksandr Usyk and another man were removed from the flight, as a result of which they lost their passenger status.
“They did not want to disembark when they were called by airport security, so we were called to deal with this issue,” the border guard said.
Michalowski also explained that the use of handcuffs was due to the men’s excessive gesticulation.
“Putting on the handcuffs was related to the men’s postures – they both gesticulated a lot because they were unhappy that they didn’t fly. So putting on the handcuffs was purely a precautionary measure. In the office premises, the handcuffs were removed immediately,” Mikhalovsky explained.
Earlier it was reported that the situation at Krakow airport with the participation of Oleksandr Usyk became an international scandal.
