The boxing community was surprised by the decision of referee Howard Foster to stop the megafight between Oleksandr Usyk and Fabio Wordley in the 11th round.
“Parker was leading on the scorecards – 98-92, 96-94 and 95-95 – when that ridiculous stoppage happened from the always terrible Howard Foster, who has been ruining fights for years,” noted insider Dan Raphael.
“I didn’t like the decision to stop the fight. In the final series, the first shot missed the target only slightly, and the next two missed the target at all. The referee chose an extremely unfortunate moment to intervene,” added The Ring journalist Mike Coppinger.
