British promoter Frank Warren sharply criticized the decision of the WBA to allow Kubrat Pulev to fight the Russian Murat Gassiev despite the fact that the Bulgarian was supposed to give a mandatory fight to Moses Itaumi.
“It’s ridiculous. How can you agree on a fight with Pulev, when he already has another one planned? It was necessary to wait for the result and appoint a match with the winner. This is a waste of time, complete absurdity,” the promoter said.
Warren added that the team is currently considering the next steps and evaluating the possibility of legal action: “We will meet to decide how to proceed. What the WBA did is just crazy.”
