Ex-World Champion by WBA, IBF, IBO has announced the completion of his career

On the night of March 2 at the Arena “Barclays Center” in New York there was a medium weight (up to 72.6 kg)-the former World Champion met in the ring. Jarrett Hurd (25–4–1, 17 KOs, USA) and Johan Gonzalez (36–4, 34 KOs) from Venezuela.

The duel passed the entire distance (10 rounds) and ended with the victory of Gonzalez with a separate decision of judges – 98-92, 96-94 and 94-96. After this confrontation, Hurd announced the completion of his career:

“I am the man of the word. It will be the last time you see me in the ring. I had a wonderful career, ”Hurd said concisely.

The American boxer previously owned IBF titles (2017-19), WBA (2018-19) and IBO (2018-19) in medium weight. In the last five matches he suffered three defeats, once won, another fight ended in a draw.

The main event of the box in New York was the title confrontation in lightweight (up to 61.2 kg). WBA WBA Winner Jervont Davis failed to overcome Lamont Roach’s compatriot.
