International Boxing Federation (IBF) announced a battle weight (over 90.7 kg), the winner of which will be a mandatory contender for the absolute world champion Alexander Usik (24-0, 15 KO).

The former IBF World Champion, Briton will meet in the ring Daniel Duba (22-3, 21 KOs) and Cuba representative Frank Sanchez (25–1, 18 KO). The parties have to agree on the match by October 22, otherwise the organization will appoint promotional bidding.

It is expected that the Fighting Battle in Hevaeit will take place in January-February, and by the end of 2026, Usik will be obliged to enter the ring against the winner of this confrontation.

Duba last went to the ring in July – in revenge was defeated by knockout from the Ukrainian champion and lost the title of IBF. In August 2023, the British made the first attempt to overcome Usik, but gave way to it. If Daniel wins the Cuban, then the third battle against the representative of Ukraine will be able to draw.

In the last duel, Sanchez was knocked out by Mexican Ramon Overry and closed the only defeat in his career – in May last year he could not oppose Agite Kabayla from Germany and lost by knockout.

We will remind, earlier from participation in the contender match on the IBF line were abandoned by the British Mosnes Ituma (13–0, 11 KO), Nigerian Effe Azhagba (20–1, 14 KO) and American Richard Torres (13–0, 11 KO).
