“Aggressive and confident.” Holyfield named a heavyweight who impressed him

A legendary American Evander Holyfield named a boxer who impressed him with his efficiency and aggressiveness – former world champion Andy Ruiz (35–2–1, 22 KOs):

“I knew that he could prove himself, because I sparred with him several times. I was 46 at the time and he was 19. I couldn’t believe Ruiz could be so aggressive and confident at that age. He chased me around the ring. I was the world champion at the time, and he kept going forward. It’s just unbelievable how much confidence he had. He was stubborn even in sparring.

I understand boxing. You look at Ruiz and he looks like he can’t fight at all. Nothing tells you that Andy can step into the ring and surprise an opponent, but he did. He has quick hands and can hit very hard. But no one seemed to know that,” Holyfield recalled.

In the last fight Andy Ruiz met with Jarrell Miller – the fight took place on August 3 last year and ended in a draw.
