Polish boxer Michal Sochinsky (11–1, 8 KOs) is in an artificial coma after losing to Ukrainian Ramazan Muslimov (9–0, 6 KOs). This was reported by the promoter Andrzej Vasylevskyi.

“Mihal is intubated (a special tube is inserted to ensure the patency of the respiratory tract – note), there are no hematomas, but significant swelling is observed. A decision was made to transport him to a hospital in Lublin.

Doctors say that the situation is stable, and nothing alarming is happening now. MRI results also confirm this. Michal will be given medication and will probably spend the next few days in a coma.

We are constantly trying to keep the situation under control, keep in touch with the doctors and believe that everything will go well. I would also like to emphasize that the mayor of Helm, Jakub Banashek, has shown himself to be simply excellent in this dramatic situation. He personally spent almost the whole night with Michal in the hospital and coordinates all actions,” Andrzej said.

Sochinsky was knocked down five times in the title fight, which took place on Saturday, November 22. Muslimov won the WBC Baltic title by knocking out his opponent in the seventh round. After the fight, Sochinsky was taken to the hospital, and he was also diagnosed with a fracture of the orbital bone.
