“The head of the current champions noted the speed and reliability of the Red Bull Ford”, — write: sport.ua
The team from Milton Keynes tested for the first time a power plant created in collaboration with Ford. Despite a few minor problems, the debut of the new motorcyclist can be considered successful – together with Racing Bulls, the team covered 622 laps.
Brown was surprised by how quickly Red Bull picked up the pace.
“I would say the Red Bull Ford engine looks very, very strong – so credit to them,” Brown said.
“It seemed not only very fast, but also reliable. And in general, reliability looks very high given the complex new, still “raw” regulations that will develop over time.
The amount of hitting that all teams received was impressive.
That’s what caught my eye the most – the Ford engine and overall reliability under such complex new regulations.”
McLaren enters the season as the current holder of two championship titles and will be looking to defend its success.
However, Brown cautioned against premature conclusions after the first tests.
“It is still very early. It is risky to draw conclusions after Spain.
I can say that we feel – we will be competitive. The top four teams look very strong. So far, these are only the first signals, but they are positive.
It would be premature to make any predictions after a few days of tests. Over the next two weeks, the picture will become a little clearer.”
