According to Reuters sources, the European Union is already developing a list of compromises that dictator Vladimir Putin will have to make as part of a peace agreement to end Russian aggression against Ukraine.
Main theses:
- Some EU countries seek to hold direct talks with Putin.
- However, first of all, the block must clearly establish a unified position.
The EU is changing its approach in peace negotiations Head of European diplomacy Kaya Kallas made a statement on this issue.
She confirmed that it intends to present a list of concessions that Europe will demand from Putin in the context of a peaceful settlement.
As the diplomat noted, dialogues about peace are mainly held between Ukraine, the USA and Russia, but the Europeans should also be involved in this process.
Against this background, Callas reminded the world that Moscow, not Kyiv, should be forced to compromise, since it was not Ukraine that started and continues the war.
According to preliminary data, the following points may be included in the list of demands to Russia:
- return of all Ukrainian children forcibly removed from Ukraine during the war;
- limitations of the Armed Forces of Russia;
To implement its own requirements, the European Union can use about 210 billion euros of frozen Russian assets.
These funds play the role of a certain means of influencing the dictator Putin.
