Details: The representative of Ukraine, answering the questions of the European Parliament, admitted that at the height of the crisis there were fears about the possible impact on the supply of weapons, due to which the achievement of the results needed by Ukraine was in jeopardy. “Indeed, given the degree of transatlantic tension, there were certain fears that against the background of Greenland and partly the negotiation process, it would be difficult to get the result we need from the point of view of military needs,” she said.

However, according to Hetmanchuk, there are currently no signs that this problem will affect the financing of subsequent purchases.
“Actually, I have never once heard that representatives of any country said, ‘We will not provide funds because we do not like the US position on Greenland,’ or something like, ‘You will have a truce tomorrow, so the need to provide funds or weapons is no longer so urgent,'” she explained.
Hetmanchuk emphasized that instead, the problem and “biggest obstacle” for financing is the uneven distribution of the financial burden among the allies.
“There are countries that have already made contributions several times, and seriously, and there are those that have not yet made any contributions,” she added.
We will remind, during the meeting of NATO defense ministers in Brussels on Thursday, February 12, the United States expects that the member states of the alliance will make an announcement on new purchases of American weapons for Ukraine within the framework of the PURL initiative.
