In recent years, Chuzhikov served in the legendary 93rd Brigade. During the Bakhmut defense operation, 2022-2023, he was the commander of the 3rd mechanized battalion, which fought heavy battles in the city itself. At the end of 2024 – when the brigadier general changed in the brigade, from Pavel Palisa to Shamil Krutkov, Chuzhikov was the chief of staff of the entire brigade.
“Ukrainian Pravda” repeatedly filmed the work of the 3rd battalion of the 93rd brigade – in the direction of Bakhmut, and later Chasovoy Yar, where they spoke positively and humanely about their then commander.
Prehistory: The previous brigade commander of the 10th brigade, Colonel Volodymyr Poteshkin, as “Ukrainian Pravda” reported at the end of December, was removed from his post due to the loss of positions south of Siversk. Then two brigades – the 10th and 54th brigades – immediately “flew” from their posts.
As the UP knows, the reason for the dismissal was the false reports of the command of both brigades – they reported the presence of positions in their areas of responsibility, which in fact had not been staffed for a long time. The lie came out during the rapid loss of the entire city, the Russians announced the capture of Siversk on December 12.
