Residents of Kyiv, whose housing was damaged due to accidents on the water and heating networks after the shelling, will be able to receive one-time assistance in the amount of 40,000 hryvnias. The relevant decision was adopted by the Kyiv City Council. The money is intended for those who were forced to urgently repair their apartments after damage.

In Kyiv, new material assistance was introduced for residents whose homes were damaged due to accidents on engineering networks after Russian attacks. This is a one-time payment in the amount of 40 thousand hryvnias. “Deputies made a decision to provide one-time financial aid in the amount of 40,000 hryvnias to Kyiv residents who found themselves in difficult life circumstances as a result of an accident on engineering networks. Because of this, their home was damaged,” Klitschko wrote.

The mayor clarified that it is about accidents that occurred after shelling and damage to the city’s infrastructure. Due to enemy strikes, water and heating networks are damaged, pipes burst, flooding and destruction of apartments occur.

The deputy head of the KMDA, Maryna Honda, explained that residents whose homes were damaged after January 1 of this year will be able to receive assistance. “40,000 hryvnias can be received by residents whose homes were damaged due to accidents on engineering networks as a result of enemy shelling. We are talking about cases when, due to damage to the water or heat supply, burst pipes or flooding of apartments, people are forced to urgently put their homes in order in order to have safe and livable conditions again,” she said.

In addition to the basic payment, additional assistance is provided for low-income residents of Kyiv. We are talking about those who already receive state social assistance and were also affected by shelling.

According to Honda, such residents will be able to receive another payment – in the amount of one living wage. These are additional funds that will help people to restore housing faster and return to normal life. To receive assistance, one of the owners or co-owners of the damaged apartment must submit an application to the Kyiv Department of Social and Veteran Policy.

The following documents must be submitted together with the application:

  • passport and identification code;
  • a document confirming ownership of housing;
  • a certificate from the management company, condominium or apartment building about network damage;
  • bank details for receiving payment.

Documents can be submitted in person at the following address: str. Lubomyra Huzara, 7, office 116. You can also send them by e-mail to: [emailprotected]

Separately, the Kyiv City Council allocated another 300 million hryvnias for the restoration of housing that was damaged as a result of Russian attacks. These funds will be used to repair houses and help residents of the capital. The city authorities note that such payments should help people cope with the consequences of shelling faster and return their apartments to normal condition.
