The other day, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation announced the occupation of the Ukrainian settlement of Hlushivka in the Kharkiv region.
As early as November 20, 2025, Russia claims that Kupyansk was captured by the Russian army, and “15 battalions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine” are allegedly blocked south of it. On December 2, Russian President Vladimir Putin even announced that “in a few days” the Russian army would allegedly take control of Kupyansk-Vuzlovi. The Ukrainian command denies these statements.
In December of last year, analysts of the Institute for the Study of War (ISW) stated that Moscow was exaggerating its successes on the battlefield, particularly regarding Kupyansk.
