According to the first deputy minister of energy, the liquidation of the consequences of two massive attacks by the enemy on the energy system of Ukraine during the past week is ongoing.

“Energy workers are doing everything they can to restore the equipment damaged by the enemy to work. Restoration is ongoing both at power plants and at high-voltage substations that provide power output to the nuclear power plant,” Nekrasov informed.

He also noted that some consumers in the Sumy, Dnipropetrovsk and Kharkiv regions were left without electricity due to shelling of the energy industry on the night of February 9.

“Emergency restoration works at power facilities are ongoing,” added the first deputy head of the Ministry of Energy.

He also reminded that on February 9, schedules of hourly outages and power restrictions for industrial consumers are in effect across the country.

“Due to the difficult situation in the power system in some regions, emergency power outages have been forced,” Nekrasov concluded.

The attack of the Russian Federation on the energy system of Ukraine – the latest newsOn the night of February 7, the enemy carried out another massive attack on the energy system of Ukraine. Burshtynska and Dobrotvirska TPPs came under attack, in particular. In addition, the occupiers attacked substations and overhead power lines of 750 kV and 330 kV.

The director of energy programs of the Razumkov Center, Volodymyr Omelchenko, notes that in case of continued attacks, the Russian Federation will sooner or later “put down” Ukraine’s energy system. According to him, in order to prevent this, the number of long-range weapons should be increased and symmetrical “retaliatory strikes” should be carried out on the Russian Federation.
