Roma spent much more than expected on the transfer of Dovbyk

The total cost of the transfer of the Ukrainian striker Artem Dovbyk to Roma was 41.113 million euros, making him the second most expensive acquisition in the history of the Roman club – on a par with Patrick Schick and second only to Tammy Abraham.

According to the source, the agreement with “Girona” provided for bonuses and a percentage of the future resale, which were guaranteed to the Spanish side. That is why Roma decided to immediately amortize the entire amount of investment, which also includes EUR 1.6 million in agent’s commission.

Since the transfer, Dovbyk has spent 3,820 minutes in all competitions over two seasons and scored 20 goals. The current season for the forward was significantly complicated by a hamstring injury and surgery.

According to Transfermarkt, Roma paid Girona €30.5 million in the summer of 2024, but this amount does not include all possible bonuses and agent fees.

OFFICIALLY. Roma made a categorical decision regarding Dovbyk
