It became known about the death of Ukrainian cinematographer Pavlo Loik. He was 82 years old. The cause of the tragedy was hunger and cold.

According to her, Loiko lived together with his wife Lidia, the couple led a secluded lifestyle and hardly communicated with anyone. For the past two weeks, they had basically been surviving on water, with no money for food. The man’s heart could not stand it.
“A tragedy happened. A neighbor died at night. He died of hunger and cold… Age 80+. They had been sitting on the water for two weeks because there was no money for food. My heart couldn’t take it,” Poklad wrote.
After the situation was publicized, the local authorities and caring people helped with the organization of the funeral. Svitlana Poklad thanked everyone who responded and expressed hope that social services will continue to support the elderly widow.
Pavlo Lojko lived in Vorzel since the 1990s. For many years he worked at the Oleksandr Dovzhenko National Film Studio. Among his works are the films “Lost Letter”, “Hello Ralph” and others.
