American Shakur Stevenson announced his pound-for-pound ambitions after a convincing victory over Teofimo Lopez. The 28-year-old boxer became the third youngest world champion in four weight categories in the history of boxing, winning the WBO title in the first welterweight.
“I am number one. For me, I am the best fighter on the planet. The only other boxer I look at now and think is on my level is Usyk. In the art of hitting and not missing at the same time, that’s boxing,” Stevenson said.
Shakur currently holds the WBC lightweight and WBO welterweight titles. In the near future, he should decide in which division he will continue his career or whether he will try to win a belt already in the fifth weight category.
