“Boxer launched a lawsuit against Showtime”, — write: sport.ua
Legendary ex-champion of the world Floyd Mayweather launched a high-profile lawsuit against Showtime and Showtime Sports President Steven Espinosa. The American accuses former partners of conspiracy to commit fraud, misappropriation of funds and unjust enrichment.
According to the lawsuit, Mayweather wants to return at least $340 million, as well as pay compensation for moral damages. The main complaints concern the fees for the megafights against Manny Pacquiao and Conor McGregor. Floyd claims that a large part of the funds went to his adviser Al Haymon, after which the boxer received only a portion of what he earned.
Mayweather has worked with Showtime since 2013 and previously claimed to have become boxing’s first billionaire, but now insists he never saw the full amount.
