20 thousand hryvnias in addition to the salary: Svyridenko announced to whom and when to expect payment

Employees of the energy sector, involved in emergency and restoration work in the winter period, will receive monthly allowances in in the amount of 20 thousand hryvnias. The first accruals will take place in February. This was announced on February 4 by the head of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, Yulia Svyridenko.

As the head of the government noted, energy workers, utility services and railway workers continue to eliminate the consequences of large-scale Russian attacks on the energy infrastructure. She emphasized that in the crisis situation, the state will continue to provide comprehensive support to citizens, businesses, and households.

Allowances for energy workers As part of the adopted resolutions, allowances are provided for emergency recovery units. Energy workers who work continuously to restore the power system will receive 20,000 hryvnias per month for working in critical teams. The first payments will be transferred to card accounts already in February.

Support for vulnerable population groups At the same time, the state, together with state-owned companies, provides targeted assistance for people with disabilities and single pensioners. The first 10,000 “Packages of heat” provided by the Naftogaz Group have already been received by residents of Darnytskyi, Dniprovskyi and Desnyanskyi districts of Kyiv, as well as Brovary and Boryspil of the Kyiv region. The packages contain items necessary for passing the cold season, keeping warm, communicating and ensuring the operation of medical devices.

The government intends to expand this initiative with the involvement of other state-owned enterprises — Energoatom, Ukrenergo, and Ukrhydroenergo. They will provide additional “Packages of heat” for communities throughout Ukraine, where the situation with electricity and heat supply remains tense.

Assistance to businesses, non-profit organizations and the population Special attention is paid to energy support of business, in particular to FOPs of 2-3 groups. More than 9,000 entrepreneurs working in socially important industries have already submitted requests for a one-time state payment of up to 15,000 hryvnias to ensure independent activity during emergency shutdowns.

Enterprises can also use the program of energy credits for generators. Partner banks have already received more than 270 applications for loans at 0% annual interest under the “Affordable loans 5-7-9” program. Currently, applications have been submitted to 7 banks, and a total of 43 banks throughout Ukraine will participate in the program. For households, the SvitloDim program began to operate, according to which the state provides multi-apartment buildings from 100 to 300 thousand hryvnias for the purchase of generators and other energy equipment to ensure the functioning of basic life systems. The program is allowed to be combined with other energy modernization tools, in particular with 5-7-9 credits for the installation of solar panels, batteries and hybrid inverters.
