In the quarterfinals of the Italian Cup, Inter won a difficult victory over Torino with a score of 2:1 and made it to the semifinals of the tournament. The match took place in Monza, as the San Siro is being prepared for the opening ceremony of the Winter Olympics.

Simone Inzaghi’s team, which approached the match against the backdrop of personnel losses, actively started the game and created moments near the opponent’s goal. After Carlos Augusto’s shot hit the crossbar, Inter opened the scoring in the 35th minute – 21-year-old Issiaka Kamata crossed from the right flank and Ange-Joan Boni headed the ball into the net.

Immediately after the break, the Nerazzurri doubled their lead. Davide Frattesi intercepted the ball in the middle of the field, Marcus Thuram executed a cross, and Andi Diouf closed the pass from close range in the fall. Torino did not give up and reduced the deficit in the 57th minute – Sandro Kulenovic scored after a ricochet from Markus Pedersen’s pass.

In the closing minutes, Torino tried to save the match, but Inter played confidently in defense and held on for the winning score. In the semifinals of the Italian Cup, the Milan team will play against the winner of the Napoli-Como match.
