Former world champion Mairis Briedis shared his impressions of the match between Shakur Stevenson and Teofimo Lopez, comparing the winner with Oleksandr Usyk.
“If we talk about the fight itself, we saw skill in technique, a sense of distance and timing. Judging by accurate shots and control of interceptions, Stevenson simply outclassed Lopez.
He reminds me a lot of Usyk, who stood against big heavyweights. How did he manage to win? Thanks to speed and sharpness. He acted like a mongoose against a cobra – so fast that the opponent did not have time to deliver a strong blow. Here we see the same effect,” commented Briedis.
