According to British media, the management of Manchester City does not believe that coach Pep Guardiola will remain with the team after the end of the season – regardless of the results.
It is reported that the club has drawn up a shortlist of three replacement mentors – Xabi Alonso, Enzo Maresca and Cesc Fabregas.
The most difficult thing will be to agree with Alonso, who is claimed by other clubs, including Real and, possibly, Liverpool.
Maresca is a free agent after being released by Chelsea, while Fabregas has been successful in coaching Italy’s Como but could consider leaving after this year’s championship.
Manchester City in the Premier League is in the second position, six points behind the leader Arsenal.
