“I didn’t want to feel like I was holding back the future of the Clippers. I wanted them to really have a chance to rebuild and get some draft capital.
In Cleveland, I see an opportunity to win in the East – they have a very good team, coaching staff and everything. So as much as I wanted to stay in Los Angeles and try again, I’ve never won a title. As someone who knows basketball, I think we have a little better chance here.
We had a cool two and a half years. We didn’t reach the goals we were aiming for, but I think we made some great memories, had some great wins, and had a lot of fun together.
At the end of the day, this is a business, and I think both parties got what they wanted, are in a great position, and very happy. I’m excited for Cleveland — I’m still trying to win my first championship and I’ll do everything I can to win.”
