Estonia is preparing a new package of security assistance for Ukraine, which will include attack drones and anti-UAV means. In parallel, the countries are discussing an agreement on the joint production of weapons on the territory of Estonia, and the Ukrainian side is sharing defense innovations for testing and scaling, it is said in notices on the website of the Ministry of Defense.

The Minister of Defense of Ukraine Mykhailo Fedorov informed his Estonian colleague Hanno Pevkur about the latest massive shelling of Ukraine, during which the enemy launched about 70 missiles and hundreds of drones. Fedorov emphasized that the key priority is the development of a distributed air defense system and increasing the efficiency of destroying strike drones. It is in these directions that Ukraine and its allies are concentrating joint efforts. “Ukraine is ready to openly demonstrate the operation of such products as DELTA and the system of situational awareness in the sky. Ukrainian defense innovations will be available to Estonia for testing without bureaucratic barriers,” the Ministry of Defense reported.

Separately, Fedorov noted the important role of Estonia in the IT coalition, which allows Ukraine to scale digital solutions, including online services for the military, and ensures a quick response to threats. Estonian partners have confirmed that the level of security assistance to Ukraine will be at least 0.25% of GDP each year. In addition, the country makes an important contribution to the PURL initiative, which promotes the integration of modern technologies into the defense of Ukraine.

In the future, an agreement on the joint production of weapons on the territory of Estonia is being discussed, which will allow Ukraine to obtain modern systems and technologies faster, while simultaneously strengthening the defense potential of both countries. Thus, the new aid package and cooperation in the field of defense technologies allow Ukraine not only to counter modern attacks from the air, but also to develop its own innovative defense systems.
