Direct speech: “The Russians again ignored the efforts of the American side. There was a request from the President of the United States to refrain from strikes on energy and on critical infrastructure, you know, during the meeting of our negotiating teams, and the President of America said that we should refrain from strikes for a week. This was a very important decision. In fact, it (the energy truce – ed.) started on Friday night, and tonight the Russians, on our look, broke the promise.

Either Russia now believes that there are four incomplete days in a week, instead of seven, or they are really betting on war and simply waited for the coldest days of this winter, when it is more than -20˚ Celsius in a large part of Ukraine.”
Details: The President emphasized that the Russians have now struck with 71 missiles and 450 drones, that is, they have increased the number of missiles and UAVs in order to attack at the coldest moment.
He assured that he will be in contact with the American side regarding this shelling, counting that the partners will not be silent about what is happening in Ukraine. Zelenskyi emphasized that Kyiv needs more missiles for the systems Patriot.
What preceded: On the night of February 3, Russia carried out a combined attack on Ukraine using various types of air-launched, ground-based and strike UAV missiles, the air defense destroyed 450 enemy targets out of 521 launched. 27 missiles and 31 strike UAVs were hit at 27 locations.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyi noted that the work of the Ukrainian delegation at the peace settlement negotiations will be adjusted due to strike of the aggressor state on energy February 3.
