Bayern Munich received worrying news ahead of their crucial Bundesliga match against Hoffenheim: Harry Kane has missed training due to illness. Official confirmation from the club appeared on social networks on Tuesday morning.

“Harry Kane missed training today due to illness,” Bayern said in a brief statement. Although the exact nature of the illness has not been disclosed, his absence casts doubt on the forward’s participation in what could be a decisive match in the title race.

Since moving to Germany, Kane has become a key player for Bayern. He has scored 36 goals in 32 appearances this season, keeping just six Bundesliga games without a goal.

Without Kane, manager Vincent Kompany may consider alternatives in the forward position, including Nicolas Jackson and Luis Diaz.

Bayern leads the Bundesliga by 6 points ahead of Borussia Dortmund. The next game against Hoffenheim is on February 8.
