“Before the full-scale invasion, about 10 million young people lived in Ukraine, and now – about 7.6 million. These are colossal losses,” Berezhna noted.

She shared that in recent years, Ukrainian youth have experienced extraordinary trials: war, losses, forced displacement, air raids, attacks, and complicated studies.

“But they show us responsibility, strength and leadership like no other,” she emphasized.

The minister noted that the main task of the government is to create decent conditions for growth and self-realization for young people.

“The safety of Ukrainian youth should become a common priority for the whole world. Protection of Ukraine, support in the fight against the aggressor and sanctions against Russia are the most effective tools,” Berezhna wrote.

She appealed to her partners to help stop Russia.

“Ukraine is defending itself from the Russian Federation and has been under daily attacks for almost four years. But at the same time, we are a country that is planning for the future. At the center of this future are young people,” added the Minister of Culture.

According to Berezhnaya, even in the most difficult conditions, Ukraine invests in education, development and creation of opportunities for young people. In particular, this concerns the development of leadership and entrepreneurship, support of cultural and creative industries, strengthening of digital competences of Ukrainian youth.

“We are working to ensure that everyone can grow, develop and manifest themselves in Ukraine. Thank you to the partners of Ukraine for their support,” the Deputy Prime Minister-Minister for Humanitarian Policy said in a message.

The war in Ukraine: the latest newsEarlier, UNIAN reported that the survey conducted by the Kyiv Institute of Sociology shows that only 20% of Ukrainians believe that the war may end soon or at least this year. It is noteworthy that 43% believe that hostilities can end only next year, that is, in 2027 or even later. At the same time, 19% of respondents chose the answer “it’s hard to say”. It is noted that 65% of the respondents said that they are ready to endure the war as long as necessary, and 17% named the term as six months or several months.

We also wrote that the head of the sociological group “Rating” Oleksiy Antipovich said that every year the number of Ukrainians ready to return home is decreasing. Antipovych noted that currently only a third of those who left have such a desire. The expert predicts that the percentage of those who will actually return will be very small. Accordingly, Antipovich believes that the consequence of the war will be a demographic crisis in Ukraine.
