The main event of the show was a 5-round fight for the title of champion in the featherweight division (up to 65.8 kg) – the title holder, an Australian Alexander Volkanovsky (27–4) confidently defeated the Brazilian challenger Diego Lopez (27–7) in the rematch.
In April of last year, Alex defeated his opponent by unanimous decision of the judges and won the vacant championship title, and in Sydney he made his first successful defense.

The second most important event was the confrontation in lightweight (up to 70.3 kg) between Benoit Saint Denis (16–3) from France and New Zealander Dan Hooker (24–13).
Benoit stopped the opponent in the fourth round after a series of powerful blows in the ground and pound – the referee had to stop the beating.
