Almost half of all battles took place in the Pokrovsky direction – here, since the beginning of the day, the Russian invaders have made 28 attempts to dislodge Ukrainian soldiers from their occupied positions in the areas of the settlements of Rodynske, Myrnograd, Kotlyna, Udachne, Molodetske and towards the settlements of Bilytske, Novooleksandrivka, Novopidgorodne, Novopavlivka. Defense forces have already repelled 21 attacks.
There were 15 battles on the Kostiantynivskyi and Gulyaipilskyi directions for an incomplete day – eight and seven attacks, respectively. Clashes took place near the settlements of Pleshchiivka, Shcherbynivka, Rusyn Yar and in the direction of Novopalivka, Sofiivka, as well as near Gulyaipol, Dorozhnyanka and in the direction of Dobropill, Zeleny.
The forces of the Russian Federation also continue their attacks in North-Slobozhansk and Kursk, South-Slobozhansk, Kupyansk, Lymansk, Slavyansk, Oleksandrivsk
There were no offensive actions of the enemy in the Kramatorsk, Orihiv and Prydniprovsk directions.

On January 22, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, stated that the Defense Forces continue to restrain Russian troops in Pokrovsk and Myrnograd in Donetsk region, as small groups of the Russian Federation are trying to infiltrate the northern regions of both cities. He noted that as a result of the active assault actions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, another attempt by the Russian invaders to seize these settlements was thwarted.
Fighting in Pokrovsk has been going on since October 2025, when the Russian army managed to break through to the city after several months of fighting on its slopes. Almost immediately, Russian soldiers began to be recorded in Pokrovsk’s satellite city of Mirnograd.
The Pokrovsky direction, according to the reports of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, constantly leads in terms of the number of Russian assaults.
