In the first round, the Ukrainian won a victory over the representative of Egypt Mayar Sheriff (WTA 109) in a three-set match in 2 hours and 54 minutes.

In the second game, Oleksandra played a hidden match point on serve in the ninth game, after which she broke herself. In the third set, Sherif led 3:1, but Oliynikova managed to win back and close the match.
It was Oliynykova’s first match at WTA tournaments and only her second on the Tour. On January 20, Oleksandra lost to Madison Keys at the start of the Australian Open 2026.
In the 1/8 finals of the competition in Cluj, Oliinikova will compete against eighth seed Anna Bondar (Hungary, WTA 74).
