The first half turned out to be completely behind the “hammer fighters”. Already in the 7th minute, Jarrod Bowen opened the scoring after a dangerous cross from the flank, taking advantage of a misunderstanding between the defenders and the Chelsea goalkeeper – 0:1. In the 36th minute, Chrysencio Summerville doubled the guests’ advantage after an excellent combination with Van-Bissaka – 0:2. The hosts looked confused, creating chances but failing to convert them.
The second half was a turning point for Chelsea. Joao Pedro’s first goal in the 57th minute after a pass from Wesley Fofana gave the team hope – 1:2. In the 70th minute, Cukurelia equalized the score with a header after a powerful pass by Cole Palmer – 2:2.
