Prehistory:
- The flagship of the Black Sea Fleet of the Russian Federation cruiser “Moskva” was hit by the Ukrainian anti-ship missile complex “Neptune” in mid-April 2022.
- The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation confirmed the explosion on the cruiser, but stated that the ammunition detonated on board, the sailors were evacuated, and the cruiser itself “maintained buoyancy.” Then the Russian ministry said that “Moscow” sank during towing to Sevastopol in stormy conditions.
