The second racket of Ukraine Marta Kostyuk (WTA 27) will not play in the hard WTA 1000 tournament in Doha, Qatar.
The Ukrainian continues to recover from the ankle injury she received at the Australian Open 2026. Earlier, Marta shared a photo showing her wearing a brace.
In 2025, Kostiuk reached the quarterfinals of the 1000 in Doha, where she lost to future champion Amanda Anisimova. The tournament in Doha in 2026 will be held from February 8 to 14.
In addition to Kostyuk, Naomi Osaka (replacement – Wang Xinyu) and Eva Lys (replacement – Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova) also withdrew from the tournament in Doha.
Among the Ukrainian women in Doha’s bid is Elina Svitolina, who will be seeded 10th.
