“I am grateful to SpaceX President Gwynn Shotwell and Elon Musk personally for their quick reaction and starting work on resolving the situation. Elon Musk’s decision to urgently activate Starlink and send the first batch of terminals to Ukraine at the beginning of a full-scale invasion became critically important for the stability of our state,” the minister noted.
Fedorov added that Western technologies should continue to help the democratic world and protect the civilian population, and not be used for terror and the destruction of peaceful cities.
What is the danger of drones from StarlinkAt the same time, an expert in radio-electronic warfare and communication systems, adviser to the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Serhii “Flash” Beskrestnov explained in Telegram that Starlink cannot be suppressed by means of radio-electronic warfare (EW) and even detect their position in flight with radio-electronic reconnaissance equipment (ER), therefore, the main way to solve the issue is organizational.
