A sharp drop in air temperature is expected in Ukraine on February 1-3, the State Emergency Service warns.

As the press service of the State Emergency Service writes in a telegram with reference to the Ukrhydrometeorological center, at night, except for Transcarpathia and the southern part of the country, the temperature will drop to 20-27 degrees of frost, in the Kyiv, Chernihiv, Zhytomyr, Rivne, Sumy, Poltava and Kharkiv regions, to 20-25 degrees of frost. During the day, 15-22 degrees of frost is forecast.

Rescuers warn that in places the frost will reach minus 30 degrees – this is the IIIrd level of danger, red.

The State Emergency Service adds that on February 4-5, a gradual easing of frost is expected from the west and southwest of the country.

Against the background of the previous wave of strong cooling, Russia once again attacked the objects of the Ukrainian energy infrastructure. Ukraine is under a state of emergency, the most difficult situation is in Kyiv and the Kyiv region. According to local authorities, as of the morning of January 29, 613 high-rise buildings remain without heat supply in Kyiv, out of almost six thousand, in which heating disappeared as a result of the Russian attack on the capital’s critical infrastructure on January 24.

The day before, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyi warned that Ukrainian intelligence has information that Russia is preparing for a new strike.
